JPG File Size Reduce Software 7.0 is a small and simple application that does exactly what its name says: it reduces the size in bytes of JPG image files.

Once installed and started, JPG File Size Reduce shows an annoying window with its own advertising (self advertising); this window stays on top, no matter what you do. I was tempted to classify JPG File Size Reduce as an adware, but the license states it is shareware. OK, you just can move this announcement toward some part of the screen where it does not hinder your work.

Despite the commercial version is able to process various files at once and even allows to select a whole folder in order to process all the JPG files included in it, this shareware version allows to reduce only one JPG file every time.

You can drag the file from Windows Explorer and drop it on the JPG File Size Reduce window or click on the Open folder window and select it; then you select the quality level you want, and click on the Reduce button; that's it.

The reduced image is in the same file, as it was overwritten; that is, you won't get another reduced file. So, be careful if you need to keep the original file
Advantages
  • Good "compression" rates (40%) using the default quality level, without visible quality loss
Disadvantages
  • Annoying advertising
